I like to keep a balance between my digital and analog lifestyle. If I work for too long with a computer I feel the urge to create something by hand. I treat these personal design projects with the same care as my professional work. The only difference is that the lack of pressure allows me to be my own worst critic.

concrete stool
Created for the purpose of creating something by hand, and experimenting with concrete. When the rough mixture transforms into a smooth solid, it captures a stunning amount of personality that inexplicably compensates for its weight. The stool feels as though it tries to resist when being moved around. So, eventually it is the stool that moves us.

LAPTOP STAND
The mutual benefits of a laptopstand for its user and machine are known for a while. Finding a proper laptop stand that lived up to my expectations was impossible so I decided to design one myself, from sketching to modelling and crafting.

CLOTHING TREE
An ever going battle in our lives is about organising our living space. Not knowing where to leave  clothing at the end of the day is my personal nemesis. Clothing Tree is an object that changes the undressing ritual by servicing the gap between wardrobe and laundry basket.

KEY HANGER
Designed for Viltlijn to promote the rebranding of het Oude Noorden, Rotterdam's upcoming creative district, this 100% wool felt key hanger is a symbol of the key to the city.  It was handed out to shoppers of het Oude Noorden as a pleasant reminder to the many artist and independent retailers whom have gathered there.
